The White Swan Pub, Bosham
The White Swan on the Broadbridge roundabout has been closed since February 2009.
This website provides a Central Information Point for the Campaign to re-open the White Swan as a Community Project.
Across the UK there are many Community owned Stores and Pubs. It is a growing trend as more and more rural facilities have closed down.
They are being reopened as Community owned facilities, sometimes doubling up as village facilities and meeting rooms.
Of course we would need to consider the various business models for buying the premises.
However, it is just conceivable that the White Swan, with the right will and hard work, and if supported by the Community, could become a thriving hub of the community again and act as a real focal point for Bosham.
Residents turned out in force on the 20th May 2009 to support the idea of buying the pub as a community project and to set up the appropriate management.
Bosham resident Patsy West is chairing the community project with another Bosham resident, Chaloner Chute.
Patsy said "It was a fantastic meeting, and really showed the depth of feeling in the village for the pub. "
